Overview

“Ginebra” – Nick BB is a music video centered on empowerment and personal reinvention. The narrative follows a protagonist who symbolically buries his former self, carrying bags filled with memories into the forest and digging a grave to lay his past identity to rest. As family and friends dressed in black witness the moment, some mourning, others proud, the act becomes a reflection on growth, authenticity, and the courage to outgrow expectations. Parallel performance scenes in the forest and near the train tracks reinforce the emotional tension between who he was and who he is becoming.

Challenges & Approach

Securing a forest location that allowed uninterrupted filming proved challenging, especially with limited resources, last-minute cancellations from background performers, and light rain during production. The visual language contrasts cinematic 4K imagery with occasional found-footage textures, emphasizing the transition between memory and transformation. The forest becomes both literal and psychological space: a place of burial, confusion, and rebirth while the presence of the train, subtly suggests movement and irreversible change.

The Result

The final piece functions as a metaphor for self-empowerment. By confronting the expectations of others and symbolically destroying his own image, the protagonist embraces the uncertainty of becoming someone new. “Ginebra” invites viewers to reflect on their own evolution and on the necessary act of letting go of who they once were in order to move forward.
